God and Country Biblical Exposition

Since I will be traveling this week, there is no video, but instead, the radio broadcast and Scripture slides.  The subject is Melchizedek.  The lasting influence of Melchizedek on the Gibeonites and Jebusites may have been why those Canaanite tribes were not destroyed but integrated into the Jewish population.   We will meet many of Melchizedek’s people in heaven.  Such is the lasting influence of the righteous.
 

This week is a book review of Ivan Alexandrovich Ilyin's book “On Resistance to Evil by Force,” written in 1925.  This book refutes Tolstoy’s passivism toward evil, which pervaded Russian thinking and contributed to the Communist takeover.  Some of the same elements of Communism in the 1920s are identical to the Left’s thinking today.
 

On this week’s program, I introduce, explain, and share the occasion for a new pamphlet I wrote entitled, “A Biblical Response to the Immigration Crisis.”

On July 4th President Trump and Mayor Mamdani gave two very different speeches celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.  These two speeches illustrate well two different worldviews in conflict.  
 

I was in Washington DC for the July 4th celebration. This is a quick, makeshift, thrown-together video covering the event.  The big takeaway was the oppressive security and sidewalk closures.  If someone wanted to stick it to American Patriots, this is exactly what they would do to make the event miserable - - close off access and create long lines.  Conspiracy or ignorance?  You decided! Other than that, it was a great time interacting with fellow Americans.

This week’s program is a simple exposition of Leviticus 18, God’s moral law for the nation.  After addressing the basis for the moral law in Leviticus 18:1-5, I go on to explain the reasons for the prohibitions against incest and homosexuality.  I conclude by answering the objection that these laws only apply to the Old Testament.
 

The theme for Bridgefest 2026 is James 2:18 – Faith in Action.  So of course, my message is about the Christian responsibility toward God’s institution of the State.  Although we must minister to the State, ultimately, the city of man is the unassailable city and only Christ can give us the victory.

President Trump just made a “deal” with Iran, but it was not a deal to surrender its nuclear weapons ambition; it was a Memorandum of Understanding, which is an agreement to reach an agreement within the next 60 days.  What is going on, and why has the president ended the war without solid concessions from Iran?  Expect to be disturbed by the reason

Program 759 (Video 408) is another explanation of the ideological divide in our country based on contrary sources of truth – Self or God.  One way of reaching out to unbelievers is to use the Socratic method to at least get people to acknowledge the basis for their moral opinions.
